A message from OLME (Greek education union)

Athens, 12/6/13 - URGENT INFORMATION BULLETIN

Greek government with an urgent (special) legislation act, closed down the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT, the Greek radio – television) yesterday (11/6), by dismissing 2.700 workers and by closing its “signal” late at night. Workers in ERT, along with the support of many trade unions and federations, have occupied ERT’ s central building starting yesterday night. Through the day, many demonstrations and assemblies will be organized. ΟLME, called all teachers to be outside the central building of ERT. Workers at Mass Media have already started continuous strikes and tomorrow (13/6) there will be a general strike in the public and in the private sector. Workers demand to overthrow this policy. We ask for your support and solidarity.
