Invitation - Meeting: Build the solidarity with Greece

Following the Alter Summit assembly in Brussels in March and the convergence assembly in Tunis WSF, we kindly ask the social movements and the Trade Unions willing to cooperate in solidarity with the Greek people, the Greek social movements and the anti-austerity policies of the Greek government to come to Athens and attend a coordination meeting on May the 2nd from 9 am to 2 pm.

Friends, colleagues, comrades,

Following the Alter Summit assembly in Brussels in March and the convergence assembly in Tunis WSF, we kindly ask the social movements and the Trade Unions willing to cooperate in solidarity with the Greek people, the Greek social movements and the anti-austerity policies of the Greek government to come to Athens and attend a coordination meeting on May the 2nd from 9 am to 2 pm.

We want to discuss in this meeting with Greek and European social movements and trade unions as well as with political actors from different parties, committed to a strong solidarity our common strategy for developing the movement of solidarity with Greece on the basis of the 2 declarations : “Give Greece a Chance” and “Tunis WSF declaration” (see the attachments)

We propose the following agenda:
1) Up-date on the recent developments in Greece
2) Information about the state of the anti-austerity and solidarity movements in the different countries
3) Next steps of movements (see the declaration of Tunis)
Time 9.00 – 14.00. Venue: Nicos Poulantzas Institute, Sari street 9.

All those being already in Athens on May 1st are welcome to join the Athens rally of the Athens Chamber of Labour as expressed in its letter (see the attached document).
There is no funding available to defray travel and accommodation however we can arrange hotel reservations for those who wish to stay together in one hotel. In this case please refer to: office@transform-network.net. 

We are informed that on 30 April a meeting of trade unionists being present in Athens is held. A particular invitation for this meeting is on the way.
